Q: Do I need an Australian driver's licence to rent a car from you?
No. A driver's licence from your home country is fine (A passport is also required if your licence is not in English). You need to have held a licence for a minimum of 2 years and not have had your licence suspended or cancelled within the last 3 years.
Q: I'm under 21 - can I rent a car from you?
Yes, we can rent vehicles to 20 year olds, however a higher insurance excess applies. Please contact us for details.
Q: Where can I take my rental car?
Our standard area of use is between Noosa to the north and Byron Bay to the south. Our cars can be taken outside this area, however we must be notified upon booking and additional charges may apply.
Q: Can I pick my rental car up from the Brisbane or Gold Coast airport?
Like most car rental companies, we are an off-airport operator. We collect you from outside the terminal, take you to our office to complete the documentation in comfort. When you return the vehicle to our office, we will transfer you back to the airport. Easy and hassle free.
Q: Do you do one way car rentals?
We do offer one-way rentals between Brisbane and the Gold Coast or the Gold Coast and Brisbane (subject to vehicle availability). A fee applies for this service.
Q: How much is the insurance excess?
Our standard excess for drivers aged 25 to 75 years of age is $950.00. There are higher excesses if any driver is under 25 years or over 75 years of age.
Q: What does the insurance cover?
Loss or damage to the rental vehicle, including single vehicle damage. It does not include underbody or overhead damage and tyre damage (other than normal wear).
Q: What happens if I get a speeding fine?
Any fines incurred during your rental are your responsibility. If we receive any speeding or traffic fines for you, we will complete the statutory declaration and the authorities will forward the infringement notice on to you.
Q: What happens in the event of a breakdown?
We are members of roadside service, but your first call should be to our office because there are fees associated with roadside service. We can assist at no charge in our local area with driver created problems (locked keys in car, lights on/flat battery, etc). Otherwise, we will put you in touch with roadside service.
Q: What do I do if I go through a toll?
There are several toll bridges and roads in South East Queensland that you may pass through in your rental car. All our vehicles are now registered for these toll roads so you do not need to do anything when you go through a tolling point - the electronic tag will register your trip.
When you drop off your car, please inform the office staff and pay for any tolls you have incurred during your hire period. Any tolls that remain unpaid after you leave will be charged to you with an administration service fee of $22.00.
Q: Can I reduce the excess amount
We don't offer an Excess Reduction Waiver like most other rental companies do, as our excess is already as low as possible.
However, if you have organised your own Travel Insurance Policy, it would more than likely cover rental vehicle excess, so please check your policy details.
Alternatively, if you are travelling from interstate and you are aged between 25 -75, we can organise a 'Rental Vehicle Excess Reimbursement Policy' underwritten by Allianz Insurance, which is A$36.00 Total cost, for your entire stay. As the name suggests, it reimburses you the $950 excess, should you have to pay it, in the unfortunate event of an accident.
