Everything You Need to Know About the Gold Coast

Affectionately known as the “Goldie” to the locals, the Gold Coast is indisputably Australia’s leading tourist destination, famous for sun, surf and fun.  Sunny for about 300 days a year, with an average temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, you won’t want to forget your SPF50+ sunscreen.

The unofficial capital is Surfers Paradise with iconic beaches of white sand, surf and a shimmering strip of high-rises, with plenty of eateries and watering holes.

Other beaches with a more relaxed seaside vibe include Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads and Coolangatta.

For a back to nature experience there’s the lush subtropical hinterland less than 30 km from the beach. Experience towering rainforest and deep gorges while bushwalking in Springbrook National Park or Lamington National Park.

Step up the pace with visits to the many theme parks – Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Dreamworld, and Wet’n’Wild.

How to Get Around

Surfers Paradise has introduced a new light rail service extending down to Broadbeach, and due to be extended to Burleigh. But you will definitely want to hire a car – the best of the Gold Coast lies beyond the reach of public transport.

With 35 years on the coast, our team’s local knowledge is second to none. We care about you having the best holiday possible, so be sure to ask us if you would like more suggestions for the best things to see and do on the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.
