The Kurrawa Pratten Parklands at Broadbeach is one of the region’s most famous tourist and family oriented place which located just 5 minutes’ walk from our Broad beach family accommodation. The Kurrawa Pratten Park is typically known as Kurrawa Park, and is in the heart of Broad beach. Gold Coast City Council and Disability armed forces Queensland joined forces to make the Gold Coast’s first ‘All Abilities Playground’ at Kurrawa Pratten Park, Broadbeach
The park boasts wonderful facilities that are sure to make your visit an enjoyable one.
There is a huge flat grassy area, for playing ball games or throwing a Frisbee with the children, having a game of cricket, and running around.
The park is in a great location, right on the main swimming beach in Broadbeach also walking track you’ll also find exercise gear spread along the walkway.This Park is favorite for locals and tourists alike. The park is home to the Gold Coast’s first All Abilities Playground. The playground provides access for all children to experience fun, unique, entertaining and challenging play for all children of different ages, while their families look after them in an enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere. There is plenty for children and families to enjoy here aside from dining, including lots of water fountains, waterways with whale’s tails flunking and metal fish, miniature bridges, a large circular water fountain. Also in the park you will find a number of picnic areas, BBQ’s.
This huge playground features three zones – sandcastle, undersea and hill.
The sandcastle zone includes:
A giant accessible sandcastle with a ramp leading to a central turret look out
Sea side shapes – starfish, sea horse, blue bottle, hermit crab
Two large sand lowest point and three sand tables
A dark structure
The undersea zone includes:
A giant, accessible yellow submarine set below ground level to replicate an underwater atmosphere
Sea creatures – giant sea snake, smart ray, fish, mermaid, diver
Sea grass mounds for play
Within the park there are also swings and much more! The park is a popular venue for entertainment events and festivals from classical singers to fireworks displays.
