If you’re hiring a rental vehicle for your holiday on the Gold Coast, you will have the freedom and flexibility to explore the best beaches we have to offer. The team at Surfers Rent A Car have put together this list of the Gold Coast’s top beaches:
If you’re after somewhere a bit quieter, away from the hustle and bustle that sometimes takes over Gold Coast beaches on weekends and holidays, the perfect spot for you is Fingal Beach. Fingal is a small seaside village just over the border into New South Wales and about a 40 minute drive from Surfers Paradise. Here you’re almost guaranteed to have a decent section of beach all to yourself, so why not make a day of it with a picnic and beach cricket – just make sure there’s room in your rental car for everything you need because there aren’t too many shops in this area.
We hope you enjoy visiting these amazing beaches while you are on the Gold Coast. If you need help with directions or tips for what else to do while you’re here, just ask the friendly team at Surfers Rent A Car. Surfers Paradise Beach
Surfers Paradise beach is quintessentially Gold Coast and a must-do for anyone visiting our beautiful region. While you might struggle to get a park and a space for your towel, especially on the weekend, Surfers is a lovely beach that has plenty to offer everyone – patrolled swimming areas, wide open beach for strolling, and of course, plenty of restaurants and shopping for when you need to get out of the sun.
This is the local’s secret spot just next door to the popular Greenmount beach at Coolangatta. Snapper is ideal if you’ve bought your surfboard and want to catch some waves, as it’s one of the best surf breaks on the Gold Coast. It’s also got some nice shallow areas and rockpools that are great for the kids. The Snapper carpark gets busy early, so again you will need to start your day bright and early – perhaps with breakfast at the Rainbow Bay Surf Club. The Rainbow Bay beach front also has some great playground equipment for the little ones, BBQ areas and a nice walk around the headland to Greenmount beach and Coolangatta’s restaurants and shops.
Our favourite beach is the beautiful Burleigh headland. Just fifteen minutes south of Surfers Paradise, Burleigh beach has something for everyone – safe patrolled swimming area for the kids, a walk up to the headland for those that want to enjoy their view and plenty of restaurants and cafes just across the road. There is some parking available, but this is one of the busiest beaches on the Gold Coast so you’ll have to pack up the rental car and head off early.
Kurrawa is one of the Gold Coast’s most popular beaches, famous for hosting the surf lifesaving championships. Just minutes from the centre of Surfers, Kurrawa has plenty of room to park the rental car and the famous surf club is just a stroll across the grass for a tasty meal. Kurrawa is a beautiful beach with safe swimming areas as well as waves for the more adventurous, plus it is generally less crowded than the main Surfers Paradise beach.
